Updates for Project Rebirth AND Project Dawn!

Hi there! Besides, checking in about Project Rebirth (The Phoenix of Rebirth), I also have some small update news on Project Dawn(The Emerald World: Dawn)! I'm always so excited when things are moving along.

First, here's where I'm at on Project Rebirth:

Maps, maps, maps! I am about 80% the way through making all the maps needed for the game. I built the basic ball park of the four playable character's stats over the past couple of weeks as well. I'm still not sure exactly how I want gameplay to go, but I want to at least finish the first pass of the maps, so make sure I can keep everything flowing together. I also need to adjust my outline to time scenes to the floors, so we don't have cut scene mania at the beginning and ends. I like my stories to have discovery elements and optional content, and I also don't want people to get bored of a long cut scene.

So, right now I'm working on the pace of the game's story and what kind of environments and puzzles that will be both fun and match with the story/lore.

I have had some RL issues as well, but I was happy to notice I was able to still work on things even though I had to take it slow.

Now, for Project Dawn!

Project Dawn is going through a full rewrite. Mostly, to be sure the characters are staying in character (and act natural), and to not have this quick single rail visual novel become a giant lore dump. I'm not very experienced at writing, so the execution of my stories can be rather stiff and unnecessarily long.

There are also a lot of issues with the art. I really think I can do better, but I am missing some assets I need as a base for what I need to do with the sprites and the effects, so I am currently waiting for a  time when a sale is happening while I am not struggling too much (hard combo, I know, but I get gift money for Xmas, and where I get everything has a big sale around then, so I know I will have what I need by January the latest). The art process is slow, but I'm hoping I can keep up with the writing at least in sketch form.

I may have mentioned that this was what I was stalled on, because I needed help. Thankfully, I got some pointers and, over this past week, I have been getting through the rewrite almost halfway.  I already like it a whole lot better than what I was going to release.

I am sure this delay will be worth it. It should also help me make Project Aries a bit better. I am still prioritizing Rebirth, if it is not complete before Project Dawn, and Project Alicia before I consider adjusting Project Aries.

Last, I just wanted to add that I am still working on a Regalis/ Emerald World lore website with World Anvil. It's honestly just a really slow process, and I need to clean it up enough before I publicly publish it (and that's a lower priority, so it is taking time). Thank you so much for reading, and joining me on this crazy journey!
